Access to information has become so simple in these few decades. This all seems so mundane and completely normal to us but what we don’t know is how this process actually came in to being. Computers and printers have gone through generations of changes and models to get to the point where they are; they are the result of a few decades of evolution. As humans, we understand the concept of evolution through our own experiences and how our race went through many physical, biological, mental, physiological changes to get to what we are today. And even then we are constantly changing. It’s the same with technology, only that it’s much faster than us.
The first machine type copying began way early in the 20th a century after which the company Xerox was patented. It involved a manual process of using a machine and took quite long. The first printing press was established by Gutenberg and it would take hours to accomplish what modern computers can now do in seconds, showing a three-fold evolution. With the advent of modern copiers and desktop printers, office work became easier and more efficient and eventually, we reached a point where it became about only pressing a single button to send a command.
